Cool, angelblossom! "if you feed them they will come!" pretty clear pictures for out a window. I believe that one that is white and black and grey is a chickadee. (carolina chickadee)

It is a Chickadee. The little brown, white, gray, and black bird is a male House Sparrow. Here is a picture I took of a male House sparrow in my yard 3 days ago. HOUSE SPARROW (MALE) ![[Linked Image]](http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/Thornius/MaleHOSP08.jpg)

Doves ARE ground feeders. I occasinally see them on platform feeders, but mainly on the ground.

I call Chickadees, "The Teddy Bears of the Bird World". I can see why the other day there were at least 8 doves on the hanging platform feeder I ran to get my camera,, and at the same time Dwight let the dog out side,, and they all flew away you couldn't even see the feeder,, it looked like they were sitting in open space,, it would have made a great picture!

I think the doves are so pretty. (my cat thinks they're tasty) They don't even look like birds to me. They're special.

Diane - I don't know how I missed this thread - TERRIFIC pictures!
I'm so glad the birds finally found your feeders - and boy did they!
I never ever see my cardinals on the feeders like you have - they are always on the deck railing or the ground. Those pictures are great - especially through a window! I really like the one of the female cardinal with her crest up high!
We get the mourning doves too, but Don doesn't like them. They are in the pigeon family, and he really really really dislikes them because of the numbers that are in NYC and the mess they leave behind! I do like the ones we get here - their colors are so pretty and muted and I like the sounds they make. It's easy enough to chase them off if they get to be a nuisance.
