I get some fresh squirrel pictures I took this evening coming up......SOON! I am having a hernia repair done in two weeks, so will be going to the doctor's frequently until then, and hope to get LOTS of squirrel pictures.
Kingdoms RAGE and go to war...but the PEasants plant potatoes..
EARTH FIRST! (we'll strip-mine the OTHER planets later.)
Thanks Stevie, but I guess that your chances of getting a squirrel in Australia is about as good as my chances of getting a Wombat or Tazzy here in the States.

My husbands uncle has squirrels as pets. One got sick and he took it to the vets hours away and paid a ton of money to fix whatever was wrong with it. Everyone else in the family laughed their butts off at him and thought he was crazy because around here you don't keep squirrels as pets, you hunt them. But I'm just in rural hunting area here. I think that they are cute.......and I could never hurt any animal.
Are they really tame, will they come sit with you?
Thank You!, actually Wahdee and her sisters along with my Tim were pinkies ( no fur, only about a week old ) when I got them. But I was so busy feeding them around the clock that I didn't have time to take any pictures until they got older and required less feedings a day. Sid, and Mimz had just opened their eyes and Tina opened hers about a day after I got her.

Thanks AB, Those are great photos! And I just adore Foxsquirrels! Their colors are so bright and pretty. And actually they are a calmer and gentler squirrel. What ever that little squirrel was doing it looks like it was "Digging to China" .

Yes, that is a foxer. We mostly have Grays around this part of Florida. I think that there are still some in the mid-lower sections but here they have for the most part been hunted out and are on the endangered list. It is now illegal to kill one, keep one or in anyway have one here now. But I do love my little grays which depending on what part of the country you are in range in different sizes. the California and upper parts of the country they get rather large (2 lbs. or more). Around the southern states Lousianna, Miss., Ala., Georia, and upper Fla. they run on average around 1 and 1/2 to 2 pounds but in the Fl. Keys they are very small. At full grown adult is about the size of a 4 to 6 month old gray here. About a half a pound or a little less.
