Hey Thorny Becuase you have so much experience with cameras I'd like to know which camera would be better,, of these two choices,,

Fuju finepix Model # S2000

Sony cybershot H50

Or you do recommend one that is in the same price range I can capture bird in flight thru extreme zoom and still have a clear crisp pic,, as well as ultimate close range of a flower why

I'm not very good here, having NEVER used either brands of those cameras. Capturing a bird in flight is difficult nomatter what camera and is more a question of techniques and conditions as much as it is of equipment. It is very difficult to capture a flying bird through extreme zoom. The BETTER thing to do is to have a high Megapixel camera, and then crop the area right around the bird and enlarge that. It works better than trying to capture it in flight using high zoom. Also using SPORT Mode and or Burst Mode will help in capturing flight shots. Finally, the light need to come from BEHIND you.
