something has been chewing on my bird house entrance. Should I take this one down? Will birds still nest here?

is that a nail sticking out?? or a piece of chipped wood?? on the lowers left side of the Hole entrance??

Tap the exposed nail out, and keep using it. The birds don't care. I believe that is the work of squirrels.

Maybe bitting into that little nail is what ran off the squirrel. Will the squirrels return there since they were trying to get in and aggravate my birdies?

The squirrels were wanting to make your birdhouse their own, to live in. Squirrels will use a nest box, too. Here are the planes for a squirrel box, in case you want to build one and put it up for the squirrels.

I don't want a squirrel box for sure.

Should I try to mend the opening in my birdhouse or just remove the nail and hope for the best?
