I got a baby Quaker, too. We were driving through Pennsylvania when I saw a Quaker couple with the CUTEST baby. I jumped out of the car and grabbed the baby out of the stroller. The parents were yelling and screaming at me and throwing boxes of oatmeal and BEAUTIFUL, yet simple and functional, furniture at me. The baby is doing fine. I named him Akhmed and am raising him to be a Buddhist.

Great photos, Bettyboop! You have pets with a lot of character. Does pretty boy talk at all?

Hope you are feeding Akhmed lots of oats, Thorn.

Bettyboop: I hope you enjoy your pretyboy as much as I do my YOYO he is an never ending source of entertainment. YoYO called Bratbird the other day and here he came flying over to see what he wanted. When it is time for bed he will start walking if I am not near his cage bopping his head up and down saying nite nite over and over. Of course when I get up he wants out right then and does not like to wait. Good luck with him you will have tons of fun with him and your kids will have fun teaching him tricks and such. I have a website for training and care if you would like it pm me and I will send you the website.

I enjoy reading about your birds and Jimmy's. Maybe one day we'll get one! The nearest thing we have are the magpies who sit on our back railing and sing for their supper every day.

I have a friend who taught her bird the names of most of the players in her favourite football team (Geelong Cats, where Ben Graham came from), and the bird sits there, calling out the names, as if he's cheering at a match.

Now is that football like American Football (similar to Rugby) or is that what WE call Soccer?

Nope, Thorn, it's neither of those; you haven't lived until you've seen some Aussie rules football! American football I can watch, but don't start me on that pathetic game that we also call soccer, that attracts all the mummy's boys and actors, diving all over the place for a free kick. And after a couple of hours of this, they still don't have a score!!

Anyways, Ben Graham quit Aussie rules and came to your part of the world, and got to play in the superbowl the other day for the Cardinals. Okay, so they didn't win, but I believe he is the first Aussie to play in the superbowl.
