a few minutes ago I walked out the back door and saw this ![[Linked Image]](https://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL145/2152270/21509659/354049835.jpg) for some reason the little finch was trying to get under our siding. Johnny put on his gloves ![[Linked Image]](https://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL145/2152270/21509659/354049842.jpg) and pulled him out. He had a tick on the left side of his head about the size of a nickle. Johnny pulled it off and squashed it. He took him around to the front of the house, in case he was injured and to keep the cat from eating him, opened his hands and he flew away.

ick! I hate ticks. I've never seen one on a bird. I kept wanting to grab the occasional raccoon that would come by and pull the ticks off of them. I wasn't that silly to actually try though. I just didn't want them to be around my yard and pets. But the different preventions for pets seem to work well.

I am so glad that Johnny was able to take the tick off that poor bird. Thank him for me, ok, Sheri?

I'm trying to figure out why he had his head stuck inside the siding.

He was probably trying to get the tick off.
