I am a returning member. WOW! Has it been a long and horrible winter!!

I am thinking of spring and have a question. If this is not the place to post it, I am sorry. Maybe some kind soul can tell me where I can post it.

I want to make animal shaped topiaries this spring. The frames are so expensive. I want to make my own.

I have seen that people make their frames out of stuffed animals. My question is, how would you the stuffed animal out of their once you made your frame around it? I would think chicken wire would work?

Any better ideas I am all for.

Hope you all have a happy spring.

Welcome back! A lot of topiaries have an open bottom end for the 'trunk' of the shrub to fit easily into. You could maybe remove a stuffed animal through that intact. Or form first and then cut a wire topiary to remove and then 'sew' it back together with wire. If I were forming around a stuffed animal, I would probably just cut the stuffy up and bring it out in pieces.
A better forum for this might be shrubs and trees.
