I always double plant side by side in a wider row, if you do it that way it doesn't matter how far apart the other rows are.

Mind you I double plant side by side in everything I grow.

Corn is suppose to be grown very close together so that it will germinate. If you plant them father apart you won't get as many ears of corn. Or at least that is what I've read.

Thank you all, I hate to weed. So I have a small tractor with a tiller. If I double plant, that should work.

Corn is usually planted in your regular rows about 18 inches to 2 feet apart.

I normally plant corn in 2 rows 6" apart and then jump over about 24" and plant 2 more rows. I plant any most everythng using a wide row.

"Double plant" to me means to plant 2 rows about 6" apart. Then I will move over about 5 foot to make room for my tractor/ tiller to get between the double rows (then plant 2 more rows 6" apart). Then move over 5' and put in 2 more rows. I have the room to do this. What do you think? Will this work?

Hi Don,
Okay, not being funny.....
but why do you need the tractor to go thru
the corn patch while it's growing???

I have a big tiller and a little tiller. You usually run your tiller between your rows to aerate and weed.
