Will orange trees produce in central Texas??

I have a Meiwa kumquat& a satsuma orange& a louquat.I do get some die back on my kumquat when we get freezes.I plan to start burlaping for the bad spells,but they recover fine& what I lost was the new growth that had not hardened off.Both are grafted,but am told that I can grow kumquat from seed.I'd just have to protect them more.I'm purchaseing a lemon next.I believe the improved myers lemon.The bloosoms smell awesome.My satsuma is in a climate pocket& next to house's corner.so also easy to protect.
