This is a 34 inch wide table topper I crocheted a few years ago. At that time I had a very large dining table I covered with a burgundy cloth and put this lace work in the middle. As you can see from this photo it almost completely covers my 36 inch kitchen table.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?

To show the ruffle off to it's best and to make it stand up, I'm supposed to put stiffener in it. But it's been in storage for a while & has no stiffener. But you get the idea. If the ruffle stood, it would be about 4 inches tall.

I like it when I stiffen the ruffle then stand a crystal bowl in the center. Or an oversized brandy snifter.

I prefer to reproduce patterns written before 1920. This is a later piece but I forget the year.... mid-1940's, perhaps.

No I haven't, Bali. I would like to do one for a double bed if I could find a worthwhile pattern. Some day, I'll research and find one.
