Thanks Carol and Sheri,,,,,
It's on an ice plant,, I never took in all winter. I just pushed it under a table with other plants outside and cover the table when it gets too cold. I saw a yellow butterfly today But didn't have the camera ready,

the wind is blowing 60 miles an hour. If the butterflies are out there they're in trouble.

I have a couple of daffodils poking out of the ground and some crocus too. Won't see them today because they are covered with several inches of flurries!!!

My signs of spring are crocuses leaves, daffodil leaves, tulip leaves and one allium that has actually put up a bud. And Home Depot had blueberries and dwarf pear trees at their store. And I got a moonglow and a bartlett pear and two of the blueberries I've forgotten the cultivator but I'll look at the tag later and add it to the post. Oh, and the weeds have started to grow again. I've got to get out there and get to work on that.

Here in Utahs zone 4, I see the robins this morning and a few honkes have arrived at the nesting grounds, Some buds are showing up on the shrubs. I took the covers of from my ponds yesterday soooo good to see the fish are ok, bet they were glad to see sunshine after 5 months of being cover with plastic. Ponds look great no gunk in the bottoms to have to worry about cleaning out. Now we wait for warmer weather to kick thing in gear.

Here in Utahs zone 4, I see the robins this morning and a few honkes have arrived at the nesting grounds Here in central OH (Columbus - I think we're zone 4, or is that zone 5??), I've been seeing robins for the last 3 weeks! I didn't realized they came back so soon. I've also seen the turkey vultures... a sure sign spring's on it's way. We've got some tulip & grape hyacinths peeking through the dirt (but not more than 1" @ the most). I'm sooo ready for a change. It doesn't have to warm up to 70, just something different than 20 degrees w/big winds & flurries. Thank God... we don't have any accumulation! <knock-on-wood> I'd fall over!

I'm in Minnesota. Our sign of spring is that we'll be above freezing today. Actually (and in all fairness to our weather) we have been close to 50F a couple times in the last month. But, this is such a transitional time of year. We can still get down in the single digits one day and then pop up to the 40's the next day. It's really not safe to do much outdoor planting until around Memorial Day.

Sorry...I know these photos aren't birds or butterflies...but....since this topic is "signs of spring"............... Since I live in an apartment with no patio, this is my signs of spring: Amaryllis bulbs: Tulips and Hyacints bulbs: And Zinnia seeds from Diane: These are a lot bigger now though!!! I think these pictures were taken last week. These, and more, are all in my east window. All my plants here get full morning sun, then filter sun until dark.

I saw a large white butterfly the last day of December in my back yard. Don't think i ever recall seeing one that late in the year! Really weird.
