My girl wasn't here to cook for me today, so I just heated up the last of the Shrimp Etouffe. It was good.

I wouldda liked a breakfast sandwich, though. Too bad I'm not at Afgrey's house! Or across the street from loz's mom! lol

Good morning all!

Eek spinning heads on microwaves? Merme unplug that thing!

Ok Cindyloujobob, I want one of the sandwiches too. You could start a restaurant called the Garden Food Helper and I promise I'll help with the oatmeal pancakes. Or I'll do the afternoon tea things? whaddaya think?????? I really will help, I promise, if I am not taking a nap too.

I have left over chinese food from my sister's birthday party yesterday. And I am planning a lasagna feed for next Sunday as it is my hub's birthday and I told everyone to come who wanted to. Luckily lasagna is freezable in case no one shows up. The girls got their dad a gps unit for his car....he loves electronics and now we can put away the hundreds of road maps we have.

I am making Beef brisket with horseradish sauce for Fat Tuesday since I don't have to cook today. It is cajun too and yummy.

hmmmmm......do you think I might be on a food addict binge?????????

No naps for me yet. I just polished off a turkey sandwich and will heading out to stop for what I forgot to get this morning while shopping. Got to feed my foster-y dog. And then pick up my son from school. Then I can think about a nap. I am making pizza calzones or pulled pork and cheddar calzones tonight for dinner. It is all done just need to toss it all together and bake it. Mmmmm.

Thanks, guys.

I have often thought that some things are so bad they are funny. I've had too many days like that over the years!

Once, I was telling a social worker at the dialysis unit about a major "mega-neg" day I'd had and she chuckled. Then she told me about one she'd had. To my ears, that was the worst day I'd ever heard of! We got laughing so hard, tears were running down our faces.

The best part of days like today is that tomorrow has got to be better! thumbup

Well life is improving.

I had some dinner. I had a little rest. I made some coffee. I'm here visiting with my friends.

I didn't think it was too funny at the time to be out there shoveling snow this morning because the people responsible to do it for me didn't show up. Risky business, that. And then the driver who came for me was barely able to get himself in and out of the van & had a terrible time managing my chair and his own equipment. He finally called the office to get instructions on how to open the lift door for the van. If dialysis wasn't a necessity, I would have told him to forget it. Even so, I was very late. And of course all of this was without my boots because my girl didn't come this morning...

I can't don or doff my boots alone. So either Maxi or my girl helps me or I don't wear my boots.

I can usually get by without my boots on Tina because I only typically walk down the stairs & then sit in my chair and go from there. Today I had to do all that shoveling PLUS walk quite a distance. I'm nervous about walking on slick surfaces even with my super gripping boots on. Forget about it in ordinary shoes.

74,000 homes are still without power tonight from yesterday's storm. I heard CMP say crews were working feverishly but the going was slow in many areas because of the road conditions.

This storm was real hit 'n miss... some small areas only getting 2 inches... other areas getting over 2 feet!

Where Maxi is, they lost power & school was cancelled. Here we did not lose power and school was on a 2 hour delay.

I really hate losing power. Oh the loss of lights doesn't bother me. I worry about the birds getting too cold. I hate to be cold.

Nite Merme and Tina.... I am ready to go to bed too- eyes are itching like crazy... allergies.... it's 52* right now- actually warm... we went to Timba's choral performance- will post pics when I get them loaded... the whole second grade performed- 100 kids... they sang their little hearts out- was so cute- they get into it so much and were very grownup about it at same time...
I did some much needed house cleaning today- did 2 levels of the house and even washed the area rugs cause it was warm enough to hang them out to dry... boys played outside today too... it's really strange weather for us but we have March to look forward too- our snowiest month and the one we had the 3 ft overnight blizzard in a few yrs ago so I know winter isnt' done yet but our grass is getting green already and I have tulips coming up too and my Iris is too.... spring is coming ........eventually.

Speaking of red wine angel A lady at church told my husband that I should drink some red wine for this virus I can't seem to get over. I've tasted wine once or twice before, don't like it, have seen it in the stores and could usually see through the bottle and see the color. So yesterday at Food Lion I started looking for red wine and I can't tell if the bottles are dark or if the wine is red. I thought it would say it somewhere on the bottle "red" but it didn't except on something called Mad Dog 20/20, which didn't seem like a good choice. Seriously, that was the name on it. So I took a chance and bought Kendall Jackson for $20.00, took it home and broke the cork off in it. But it is red. I drank some of the wine AND cork and we'll see if I feel better.

Good morning, everybody!

We have a bright sun shiney day today.

I'm sleepyheaded though. Good thing my girl is here.

I already had an appointment this morning with my visiting nurse and now I have nothing else on my agenda for today. YAY!

Morning,
I woke up early when Joe got up for work... and Mom is still sleeping... sure wish I could sleep in too... oh well.
It't supposed to be warm again today- up to 67* think I will be outside for a while today..it's really dry too- had to fire up 3 humidifiers in the house to keep us from shocking each other every time we moved... course boys like to slide their feet and create sparks betweeen each other.... they were in heaven yesterday cause they got to play outside again - hard on kids to be inside in the winter...
Well I am going to go and get some breakfast for myself... got to finish cleaning the upstairs today... may even venture down to the basement to clear some of that out too.

There are many types of red wines, Sheri. They usually contain much more sugar than white, so be careful.

Nana I'm glad to hear you are getting some tastes of early spring weather. I wish that would happen here! It must be nice for the kids. Our kids are sick of the hat, mittens, boot thing.

I am doing a manicure today no matter what! I was embarassed to go out yesterday with my nails looking as bad as they did.

May I recommend a nice Pinot Noir, Sherry. A very dark red wine. Not too sweet, not too sour. Jussst RIGHT! My Cardiologist recommended I drink some occasionally, so I do. I can't stand the effects of alcoholic beverages, but LOVE the taste of them.

And I'm drinking Big K Cola from Krogers. It is MUCH better than either Coke OR Pepsi and is just 79 cents for a 2 liter bottle.

I had to choke down that Kendall Jackson last night. Was it the cork that made it taste so bad if you like the taste? It was horrible.

We don't have Kroger anymore. We used too and I loved shopping there but they all closed around here.

I think you pretty much have to aquire a taste for wine. There is only one wine that I care for, White Zinfindel, and it's actually a "blush". I don't like red wines at all, but they are supposed to be good for digestion AND for your heart....when taken in moderation, that is. My OB actually encouraged me to drink half a glass of wine each evening after dinner to help with digestion issues while I was pregnant. He said the type didn't matter, so I stuck with my favorite. It worked pretty good too.

The Mad Dog 20/20...rough stuff!!!! Used to drink that quite a bit in my less responsible days! LOL It's got some punch to it!

Just keep trying different ones till you find one that you like.

Annette
