I am looking to get a good pair of ratchet loppers. I've seen them as much as $85 and as low as $20 and every price inbetween. I found a pair on Amazon on sale for $20 normally $40, but before I order them I wanted to ask if anyone has a pair of ratchet loppers and if they like them, etc. Any advice will be helpful.
I have bought one pair of ratchet style hand pruners. (Corona, I think) I thought they might make work easier on my arthritic hands. But they were more of a workout that just regular ones. I cannot help you with the ratchet loppers. If I start getting larger branches than my regular loppers can handle I pull out the power tools.

I agree with tina that they are more work. They also are best used on brush clearing than on pruning, as they crush wood while cutting, not to be used on desireable trees.
