It's called a Bat Flower. (Tacca Chantrieri) It's for zones 9-11. I have to admit, I really appreciate the uniqueness of this one. Thought I'd share it with you all...

Yep, 9 months- TOTALLY worth it though. I just love how unique they are. Did you plant the black ones?

They need constant moist soil, prefer light shade...etc. Well worth it!

JunieGirl- they are best grown in zone 9-11 but it could be possible to grow indoors I think; if you can control the temp...etc. They are a catagory Perennial/Tropical so something to keep in mind for the conditions to grow... Please let us know what you do!

Part of the challenge with this flower is it's growing conditions. This really interests me. I might buy one too, but getting the seeds are a must. I've clicked onto that site- thank you for sharing- it's great! I've emailed it to myself for future notes.
