Hello all. I know I am a stranger. I posted on the end of the last coffee house, but I have been really bad about posting. I broke my toe Monday slid down the deck stairs and landed with my left foot under me. The deck is mossy and Oh man That will be the first thing I do when it warms. My poor toe, ITs the same big toe that has a bad bunion, So I nailed that as well. Feel like a hundred. Of course they do nothing for a broken toe, ER doc said oh it will heal lovely. LOL. Weather was really improving, but today it dropped back to the 20s with a howling wind and swirling snow. Where is spring! Hope everyone is doing OK I am sorry I have been absent.
I'm sorry about your toe, Kim. I don't care what doc's make of them, but breaks in any bone of the foot is painful!!! I hope yours heals well & quickly.
Today we had snow & sleet & slush galore and now we have heavy fog. I am glad I am in for the day and I think my driver was relieved that I was his last run.
Now I'm ready for some soup & a sandwich and some rest.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Kim--join the club--it will be a year ago now at the end of March that I broke my great toe as well.----and it "fixed" my bunion too I almost want to Jam my other foot so I can have that bunion fixed---it would be a lot cheaper than going to the dr & having surgery, right??? One x-ray and you are good to go---

I am still at Rachel's. We went to see Elton John and Bily Joel last night. We had a great time...first concert I've ever been to where I could buy margaritas or wine or whatever I wanted to drink. They had margaritas in a big slushi machine!
I hope someone else drove home! I am glad you had a good time. I have had a decent day. It isn't over yet. I'm going to go out car shopping w/my teen daughter.

The sun is so bright this morning, I had to pull the blinds on my sliders because I couldn't see the monitor! I could probably get a tan if I sat with the blinds open! YAY!
So for breakfast there is home fried potatoes, eggs, ham, bacon, saussge, fresh baked light rolls, cut fruit of every desciption, hot coffee & tea, and plenty of icy cold juice.
Help yourself!
I see the back specialist this morning & I am looking forward to it.

Good morning. I will take some of your breakfast on the run, If I may, Merme. I have been busy getting my son ready for school and my tools ready to work. Haven't had much face time with my computer or my imaginary friends in here. Gotta move when I can and the longer daylight hours mean I can much more. I will be back later.

I just got back from the specialist. He is a miracle worker! My back feels better than it has felt in quite some time, though my butt is sore from where he did the shots. Tomorrow that'll be fine, too.
I gotta put some Pussycat Dolls on the stereo and blow off some steam.

I've been going in slow-motion all day... still pretty tired. Tomorrow is one last push for dialysis and then I can spend the weekend sleeping... Maxi won't be here.
I'm bumming because they said they couldn't bring Maxi down this weekend because they were having a birthday party for the 2 year old on Saturday. So, I reluctantly agreed. Tonight they tell me the birthday party is Friday night but they still aren't bringing him.
THEN they started telling me plans they were making for spring Break. NO WAY! I let them know the kid will be home that week!

Good morning everybody! I am loving the sunshine today!
Yesterday I had a very nice thing happen. I had a dear friend for many years & then several years ago we had a misunderstanding which was my fault & he stopped speaking to me. Yesterday we reconnected again & he is, apparently, delighted to hear from me! I guess he's forgiven me and as for me, well, Lesson Learned! (I can be such an idjit).
I always try to be careful with people and I really hate it when I blow it.
This is far better.
HEY! Has anyone seen Nana around?

I walked into work today at 7:00. At my so called easy school. I didn't sit down until 9:20. A student got off the bus with lice crawling in his blonde hair. His mom works for DSS, so you'd think she'd know better, and he has already been sent home twice for this, the last time was yesterday. I caught one on a piece of tape, killed it, and gave mom a call and invited her to the viewing of the deceased and told her to come and get her son. What's wrong with these people? Why would you allow this in your house not to mention on your son's head?
I was then cornered by someone who started work here Wednesday that I'd never met. She had been transferred here from another school to be the personal assistant to our student who has up to 75 seizures a day. Well, she doesn't like her job, says she wasn't hired to do this type of work, has a heart condition, emphysema and can't run. I told her she was talking to the wrong person to which she replied that she has told all this to EC Director who told her "the nurse will be here on Friday talk to her." I don't hire or fire anyone but if she's not going to do the job she came to do she can just leave in my book and that's what I told the principal.
And last but not least J.J., a little boy with Down's, put the paper off his straw up his nose.
I laughed at the straw paper up the nose. Kind of funny, downs or not. I cannot imagine Ted doing that at any time. He doesn't like foreign objects touching his body. No pockets, collars, buttons, tags or graphics on any of his shirts, for instance. I am sorry you and your students have to deal with head lice. And aides who do not like their job. My day is over half done.

I am going back out in a few to pick up John from his refill. I'd rather nap but that isn't going to happen today. I cheated on dinner and bought a lasagna.

Hi all, Nana is not missig just trying to get stuff done, was payday so paid bills and got that out of the way... had Derek since school was out... then went and picked up Timba after so Carrie could go to bank on her way to work... in between got Mom showered and room cleaned up,it is so nice today the boys are playing outside... so that is a good thing...they are rock collecting right now... We have a couple school celebrites now- Timothy was elected star student of the month..has been every yr since kindergarten... they have a ceremony next Thurs for the primary kids ... and Derek who has been getting "caught getting good" cards lately they put all the names in a bowl and he got picked to get a stony creek water bottle... he is just thrilled cause no one else (his brother) has one... LOL! They also have been working on secret cards for Papa's birthday next week... our anniversary is Wed too so hoping we can go out for dinner at least.... Well gotta go get dinner started and get another load of laundry going too.... back in a while. Nana
howdy, every body! at first I thought that moth was the dead lice! eewwwww!
my little shy parakeet has suddenly decided to come out of her shell! I'm so thrilled for her! last weekend, we had her cage outside and she hopped over to the door and lifted it half way. thank goodness we were sitting right there and shut it quickly before she just flew off to never never land. tonight we put the dogs outside and opened her cage. my son got her to get on her little ladder and he took her right out of the cage and she has been hanging out right beside all of us. not on our shoulders, but in places like on the arm of a recliner that one of us is sitting in and such. normally we have to take the entire top of the cage off and swoosh her out. then she'll fly to a curtain rod and park it there till we bring her cage to her and she'll hop back in. we've had her for about 2 years. when we first got her she wouldn't even chirp and only moved to eat. she is certainly coming around in HER OWN time.
So, what's up on this fine friday night. it's cold and rainy here.

perhaps someone will come along & know the answer, Laura.
I found out that our sweet Mr. Bill has given me a nick name. How cool is that! It seems 'fencer' comes from the thread when I told about bldng my own garden fence while hubby was sick and napping. (I am fence builder, I think was the heading)
THANK YOU, MR. BILL!

i knew as soon as i saw it, but i haven't been up to telling you. and it will be an early night again tonight.
someone asked me a question a page or so ago, i promise i'll look back and answer you. sometime tonight.
i'm finally home after a long day. today was closing, and true to form, the kids are already remembering things they left in their rooms. or getting in trouble and needing things left in their rooms
and, because st pat's in savannah is like mardi gras in new orleans, by the time i got out of work and then dinner, there were road blocks set up on every main drag and a couple of the "dodge the cops" side roads. called the girls and told them not to drink even one drink if they went anywhere tonight.
so, i'm finally home and freezing. got the heating pad on though
