This so reminds me of some friends of mine and their carpenter dad. The girls outgrew the playhouse he built them in their backyard. So he turned it into a cat house for their three cats. The two story inside was a maze of little rooms, some carpeted, some dark and some light because he put in a whole glass wall. lots of holes to poke heads out of. and smaller holes to poke paws through. ramps going up and down. Hanging things to bat around.
It was fun to sit around and watch them play there. Or just sleep. Even though it started attracting a few feral cats too.
