Dodge, I'm glad you are snow free now. It must be a very exciting time for you, with spring coming on.

Here, I am glad to be heading into the cooler weather. We had a terrible summer, lots of bad fires, and dying gardens.

the bad fires and gone gardens would be lots worse than the snow here in the winter.
Guess each area has one flaw......\
Yes we do rejoice the spring here.. Folks go nuts hunting the first crocus and daffodils and tulips. Some state carry huge displays of the Holland tulips.
What a sight to behold.

Keep talking to us, we can cheer you up.

Nice pics Barb! How neat to have ducks in your pond!! I have been out hunting around to see if any bulbs are up. I haven't seen any yet but I have some beds covered with about 6" of leaves. Might have to dig around a bit! It is 60 here today. The first time it has been 60 in over 4 months!

I agree!! That sun is shining here today and it feels nice...now if it would continue this way and I could see some blooms...all would be well.

Oh yeah, I would love to see big displays of tulips. And thanks for reminding me about tulips, because I guess it's probably a good time to put some bulbs in soon.

We are planning to put in a water tank down one side of the house- one of thsoe slimline tanks, because there's no room for a round one. It was such a dry summer, that we will soon have even stronger water restrictions.

Hi plantqueen, it's good to hear that it's warming up for you there- you must have had quite a winter, from little bits we saw on the news here. You had some bad ice storms in Minnesota, is that right?

Minnesota is right on the Canadian border, eh? It's not unusual for them to get 2 meters or more of snow on the ground there, don'cha know.

And for those of you pining away for spring, here is MY front yard this week.

Oh yeah, I know a bit about Minnesota, and the Canadians, eh? One of the first games of gridiron I saw was the Vikings against some other poor team, and they were playing in a snow storm. Wouldn't happen here, eh? I do like the Vikings' colours- mebbe I should adopt them as my team. No wait! How about I adopt the team of the person from the gardener's forum who can best convince me that I should go for their team! That would be fun! So who would like to convince me to go for their team?

Yes, I have to agree they are very impressive! What is 'The Freak' known for? Is he a quarterback? You know, I have to admit I will be most biased towards teams that are red, white and black, as they are the colours of the mighty Saints over here.

Thorn, my appeal to be enlisted as the latest fan of an American Football team is mostly falling on deaf ears. I don't think anyone wants me! Do you think the Titans would have me as their latest fan? I'd be a good fan, you know. Check the website an' all to see how they're going. And I bet they don't have many fans in Oz! I could even get me some of their gear to wear around here. Nobody would know what I am on about, but that's the beauty of it!

They'd LOVE it. I've talked with a few of them and they're really nice guys. Just Google up Tennessee Titans. They're an NFL team and went to the Superbowl a few years ago. They are Headquartered just 24 km. west of my house.

I've already checked out their website yesterday. Me and the Titans, we go a looong way back!
