I am drinking coffee. But looking at my bed quite seriously. It has been a tiring day. Tomorrow we are going to an event for special ed kids. A little fair type thing.

I drank half of my coffee and then let the rest get too cold. Sigh. I've got my nose in a book, alas.

Also, tonight I reconnected with a girlfriend I haven't heard from since Junior High. I've been looking for her for years but also assumed she'd probably gotten married after graduation, as so many of us did back then. And, that was the case! With a different last name and a different state of residence, no wonder I had such a hard time finding her! We've exchanged some tentative emails and it is neat to be talking to her again!!!

Good morning all......although I have no idea what is good about it---it is 5:42am here----and I most certainly do not want to be up--but here I am indeed.

I fear I am getting a cold--the one my MIL shared with Rod last Sunday and then with me when I took her to the Drs. on Monday. Rod came home friday night not feeling well, so I suppose it was inevitable tjhat I get it......

I think I will sneak into merme's kitchen & see if she left any of that tea......

I had a GREAT sleep last night-- an entire 6 hours! YAY!

Good morning. I got my six hours, I think. I am working on my second cup and watching the sun rise. I was out listening to the birds wake up. I will take off in a few minutes and do a little grocery shopping for a few needed items. I need to fill my tank as well. The kids and I are going to a little fundraiser for special ed kids this afternoon. That should be a little fun and different as well.

I slept well but dreamed a lot. Wonder why we dream so much sometimes. It's still raining here and chilly.

Sheri the other night I was dreaming hard every time my head hit the pillow & I kept waking up! Last night I slept deep and didn't budge all night.

It is wierd, isn't it?

The other day I bought some Dunkin Donuts coffee grinds. Ohmygoodness, they surely make a delicious cup of coffee!

I'm pretty fussy... my coffee has to be hot and fresh for me to drink it. So normally I only get to drink about 1/2 of any cup I make before it gets too cold. And, I never reheat coffee. So my small size French Press works out well for me... I make one cup at a time.

I am back. I am about $140 lighter than when I left. I wish it was that easy to lose weight, too. But my tank is full and the boys have their ensure wannabe for the week to fatten them up. I am now cooking up my freezer food for the week. And I am so enjoying cooking ahead.

I splurged the other day and bought chicken patties. They are easy when I am tired.

Tina it sounds like you did well shopping today. What is on your cooking list?

I won't be cooking until next weekend when Maxi comes home, so on Wednesday I'll probably start thinking about it.

I am cooking Cindy's oatmeal pancakes (with my modifications) to put in sandwich bags and freeze for quick-easies. After I will be cooking up some breakfast sausage links I bought in a large bulk. I have already divvied up some polish sausage-type sausages that I purchased in bulk into meal size packs for freezing. Next I will package up the corned beef I cooked yesterday.
I bought a Reynold's Handy vac thing and a bunch of bags. The bags are pricey so I am not using them for short term freezer item. Just for meats and items that may end up in there for a while. It is a fun toy and I'm enjoying it.

I'm cooking sausage, eggs, and scones for breakfast.

Enrique, I will be right over for breakfast with my plate and fork!

Did you see that I googled an "Enrique needs" list for you in that thread?

Tina those vac bags always sound so useful.

Are you serving corned beef for St. Patty's day?

I ate corned beef last night. I may eat some more today. Then I will freeze the rest for meals later on. It isn't something my family wants every week.
Today I will feed Jonni hot dogs and cotton candy and call it her dinner. If she wants more, she is quite capable of cooking it.

Ever eaten homemade corned beef hash?

yes, Enrique, And i love it. But I am the only one here who does. You breakfast sounds delish, too.

That's why I keep disappearing from here.

I have never even visited Facebook. I really value my privacy too much I guess. I share here with my friends but for the rest, I keep myself for myself.

I got my first taste of it on Friday.It was delicious! I've never tasted the canned stuff and I never will!

Facebook is a terrific networking tool and you can add or not add whatever you want, depending on 1) privacy issues and 2) purpose of the network. I know people who use it for strictly family members or strictly for business or even as a reunion site for schools. It is vastly flexible.

Through it, I've been able to reconnect with long lost friends AND keep my eye on some youngsters I know.

Enrique I agree with you... homemade is often so much better for many things!

Hi all,
Been shopping today- Joe was off this weekend- feels really strange when he is off weekends- never happens much... he washed the cars too... and we are feeding the kids tonight- their bathroom tub/shower is out of commission till Mon - timba decded to sit on the faucet and it broke off- Joe can't fix it so the plumber is coming--- they will be here tonight to take their showers and since they are we feeding everyone too...
It is 61* today- so nice- really strange to be without a coat in March.... and it is supposed to stay this way this week.... but I am enjoying being able to turn the heat off in the day time.... even opened the windows for awhile too.

Oh dear ME! I just made SUCH a mess in the microwave. I had some browned ground beef I wanted to heat up for my salad & stuck it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Ay-yi-yi! Bits of the ground beef exploded all over the inside. It looks like it snowed hamburger in there.

I should have taken that nap I predicted.

I should have been more psychic and known I wasn't going to.

I would rather in my microwave than oven though, The micro is easier to clean. Condolences, Merme.

The worse thing is, I can't reach inside of it to clean it myself. It will have to wait until my girl comes tomorrow. I hate making messes I can't unmess.

I have an itch below my right shoulder. The seam of my nightie's sleeve is irritating it and nothing I have with a long handle can get to the correct angle. It is driving me crazy! Oh where is my kid when I need him?!

Do you guys remember a while back when I decided to eat better because I had been sick. I started eating mostly veges and drinking water. I did feel better so why did I stop it? Now I feel like crud again soooooo I'm going to try and do it again. It was hard to get started since I'm addicted to sugar and caffeine (never actually did cut out the caffeine completely) but I'm going to start again tomorrow. Why oh why did I ever stop it.

I do remember, Sheri. I'm not sure why we fall back to what comforts us. When we know it isn't really good for us. Good luck with that.

It is important to do what feels best to us individually. I know there are things I can't eat to feel my best and things my doc's say I shouldn't eat. Those don't necessarily agree. Tbey often give their approval on stuff I KNOW will make me feel like dirt in the long run so I just listen to my own body.

I'm off here for a while. I'm going to make some grits & a cup of tea and read for an hour or so.

Morning all! Glorious weather this weekend, sunny and in the 50s. The yard is a mess however. Sticks everywhere. I wanted so much to start cleaning up but My toe is sore and I figured I better not push it, since its only been a week.
spring IS COMING! Two great things this week, MY birthday.. well thats just a reminder of how old I am getting, and spring! I LOVE spring.
