while I had a lot of mums out at the farm, I only 1 white one.

But it sure looks like a mum to me. and a nice one at that.

and with rare exception the stem would go all the way down.

Does a mum bloom all summer fall, and reseed itself from seeds?

It is growing babies all around it .

Thats news to me......

It had a different name than mum on the seeds.. It was given to me in a swap.
My mums are bronze and only multiply from cuttings.....

Whatever it is , I had single and double.. Single blooms looked just like daisys. ???????

Barb--it could be the "name" or "variey" of the mum was on the package instead of it actually saying mum

and it might of said "Chrysanthamum" which is the flowers total name.

well it could be a different variety.

Valarie gave me some yellow mums that were between the size of as dime and a nickle. So there are all different varieties.

it would be so nice if someone who knew flowers better would see this and give us some knowledgable input. My curiosity is now aroused.

I believe it is a mum too,, Mums come in many many ways,, very small to very large,, spoon petals to double petal,, My neighbor has some that bloom from late summer into late fall and self seed,, her's are the size of a nickle to 3 inches across,, I have some that are reblooming now that are spoon petaled,, leaves look like yours too,, Some Mums do continue to bloom or stop blooming in the summer heat and rebloom in the fall like mine are doing,Like I mentioned before there are soooooo many varieties of mum,, Maybe the name that was on the package in the seed swap was just the name of the particular mum and the word mum wasn't written why

Thanks Diane. I said that about the giftee earlier in one of my posts. the person likley just put the name of the variety on the package.

dodge do you remember the person you swapped the seeds with?? Hopefully they would remember your flower's name.

Could it be a zinnia?? Zinnias bloom a lot! My Aunt had some green/white ones last summer. That foliage in the picture does look "Mummy" though.
