Did anyone try the new lily trees yet>

lily trees are also known as trumpet or orienpet lilies. I planted 5 lily trees from mail order last fall and they are just now starting to come up. If they do like my other ones I planted 5 years ago, they will bloom and grow very tall in 3 years and then die and leave only the offsets. I hope the ones I recently planted will be different.

after reading canada report, I turned sour.. I thought it may bloom all summer.
I was wondering what the 3 year deal meant.

Dodge I've seen one and they are awesome,, the one I saw was 5 years old about 6 foot tall and Blooms at the top in Skirts, it was three layers of blooms, absolutely awesome ,, I want one bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine were 3 years old last year they were about 4'. They get taller each year. I will be on the lookout for the 5 year thing.

I love them because I could walk past them and smell at nose level.

LOL Yep I do not have to bend to smell them. They also smell good from a distance fragrance travels up to the back patio. You have to try them.

I like them too, but if they dont last more than 3 years??????

You and I are in the perfect climate for growing lilies. I noticed alan gardens in a shorter cooling climate than us. So far all I saw was the bulb got bigger. I dug them up for the move and I was shocked at how big the bulbs were they were bigger than golf balls.

I plant all my bulbs with a layer of gravel for drainage and bulb booster in the planting hole and every spring I sprinkle a handful of bulb booster over my bulbs.

I repeat you have to try them. Don't you get those catalogs with 25.00 free coupons nothing to buy? You could try them for free.

They probably know you have money. LOL I received some like that but I received two that were 25.00 free no strings attached and the 25 even covered the shipping. I ordered some more bulbs.

You will not be disappointed regardless of what color you pick. I was doing a moon garden as you can see from the first pic it glows in the dark. The fragrance of all is beautiful and it travel a distance. I buy a lot of plants for fragrance, I love when people visit and they comment that it always smells so good around my house.
