Hi, I'm Sarah and I am a relatively new gardener. I have always had a love of plants, but only recently moved into a place that allows me to have a garden.

I have worked in a few nurseries over the years, so I have book knowledge of gardening, but I always seemed to have a brown thumb when it came to keeping houseplants etc alive. I could tell everyone else how to best grow their plants and help them to thrive but I apparently couldn't follow my own advice lol.

i currently work at a big box home improvement store and our garden department is really hopping right now.

I am married with one son, and live in the far flung suburbs of St. Louis, MO. We have been experiencing great weather the last couple of weeks but they are forecasting up to 6 inches of snow in the next couple of days, which does not bode well for my daffodils, but hopefully with a little help they will get through the cold patch. It's great to be here and am looking forward to learning all kinds of things and getting new information.

Greetings and welcome, Sarah!!! I live in Illinois about 40 miles NE of St. Louis proper. My Oldest Daughter used to live in Maryland Heights so I am somewhat familiar with the outskirts of St. Louis.

I am sure that between all of us here we can help you AND that from the sounds of it you too can lend us some of your valuable advice. Look around the site and post your questions where they fit best---I am sure you will be getting several responses to help you. And perhaps along the way yo will find a place where you feel comfortable about helping someone else as well.

They say we will only be getting 1 inch of snow here----I hope it misses us both...

I too live in Missouri, south central, and we are predicted to get snow and I am worried about my mums. They have all ready started shooting out new green leaves from the roots from last fall. Will the cold temperature and or snow affect them? Should I cover them? zoink
