We can talk here while the clean freaks (Rachel and Merme) talk about bleaching their walls in the old Coffeehouse. If you're gonna talk about me I'm just going to go play Bounce and Burst! I bet Brennan will spend every penny in both our Webkinz accounts tomorrow.

Hey Rachel! Merme and Rachel are welcome to come in and bleach any walls in this CH that they would like to I also use bleach for cleaning. Just not as often as I should/could.

Rachel did you see my last post to you (the one I slaved over to quote in) before we got slammed out of the last CH by someone's big bad keys?

I just ran back in the other coffehouse and checked it out, Merme. I don't actually bleach the wood floors. I do tend to get a bit crazy with them, though. When we had the other house with the brazilian cherry floors I would clean them and then when they dried I would go back over and polish.....then I would buff them. When anyone walked over them I had a special cloth to buff any prints off. They were the most beautiful floors. But, they showed every tiny thing bad. Now, we only have wood in our entry way and front hall. I wish the whole house was wood. I don't like the idea of carpet at all. No matter how much you vacuum carpet is just not clean. I don't allow shoes in the house at all ever. That helps a little. Jeremy thought no shoes in the house was the oddest thing when we got together. He got used to it, though.

Japan is not the only country where you take your shoes of on entering a home. It is also done in New Zealand. Outside of classrooms in the schools they have racks for the students shoes. There are boots and shoes lined up outside of restaurants. It was so hard for me to remember sometimes. Those were nice clues to remind me.

Afgrey are you enjoying that drink er, crocheting on me? Rachel, I know exactly what you are talking about! I grew up in homes with either hardwood or marble floors and I just never lived with carpet until I was an adult. It is yuckky. Those Brazilian floors you had must have been lovely indeed. I've seen them on TV but never in person. People don't wear shoes in my house, either. In the winter we have too much sand and road salt to drag in with the snow. In the summer we have way too much sand. Merme

Speaking of taking off one's shoes. Maxi participated tonight in the Foot Washing ceremony at church. The Dean of the Cathedral himself, in his beautiful chasuble (elaborate robe) knelt on the floor with a basin and another priest knelt beside him with fresh towels to dry the feet the Dean had washed. I was tickled that Maxi felt comfortable enough to take off his shoes and socks and walk forward alone in the Cathedral to participate. My kid is really growing up. Merme

I'm just dreading it. I've never been home all alone before. Rachel my heart truly goes out to you! I HATE being here alone. It is so odd because Maxi has always gone to bed very early and I've spent a lifetime it seems by myself with him sleeping in another room. But oh man dear, when he ISN'T here, it feels so EMPTY, I freak. I just do not sleep well when he is gone. Merme

I am whipping out another batch of Cindy's oatmeal pancakes. Jonni and I are almost living on them lately. I don't often get a chance to cook on a weekday in the middle of the day. But I am enjoying it while I can.

Big repair bills are not good for any budgets, Nana. I am sorry to hear about your back. But glad you will be able to spend Easter with your loved ones.

Well, I am home from picking up my son. I'm thinking a nap sounds pretty good although I'm not actually sleepy so much as I want to stretch. I want to be in fine form for a party tonight.

Just stopping by to check in. I'm busy steaming my carpets. You can all make fun all you want. I'm having an absolute ball. I love the satisfaction of seeing the carpet come clean. And, it has been wonderful to help pass the time while Brennan is gone. It is driving me crazy that he isn't here. I'm very glad he and his Cindy Granny get to spend time together. I know they are both having such a good time......even if it did cost Mommy an extra $300. Now you know why I go to Walmart while he's in school. He costs me a fortune and I know how to say "no" to him. I know you wouldn't dare say no to him.

I'm busy steaming my carpets. You can all make fun all you want. I'm having an absolute ball. I too love to shampoo my carpets! more than seeing how clean they look when I'm done, I love to pour out that dirty nasty water and know that stuff is no longer in my house! It looks like we got a new PUPPY! We've been seeing this dog pop his head in and out of the culvert at the front of our road by the hwy. One day last week hubby got him to come out enough to pet him. a few days later the little fellow chased his truck half way down the road only to bolt back where he came from once hubby stopped the truck. this morning he let hubby pet him some more and when asked 'you wanna load up?' He did! the girls, our two labs, don't know what to think of him just yet. I have a few pic's. I'll try and get them loaded up later on.

A new puppy is wonderful, for you and it too, Cricket. I also live in an area where dogs are 'dumped'. Saying no is so hard. Specially when we have a kill pound.

well Cricket if you let that puppy inside you'll be shampooing the carpet a lot more.
Rainy, dreary day here. I had Aubry today while Shelley took Colby and Darbi skating. We had fun. She's such a good baby but I'm glad I had my children young. It wore me out.
Clorox bleach is one of my favorite smells. My neighbor used to tease me because my apartment always smelled like Clorox and Tide.

Seems it's rainy everywhere today. I dropped Joey off at school this morning, went to a doctor's appointment, went grocery shopping, did the dishes, and started the laundry. I just finished eating a late lunch.

Mostly at home or at work. Been dealing with a lot of stuff for a long time and it seems to finally be getting better now. So far, 2009 has been better than 2007 and 2008 combined. I'm vacation as of today and don't go back to work until the 20th. I'm hoping the weather shapes up for at least a day or two this week so I can get something done in my garden. It's not looking so good right now.

Thanks, I'm happy to be back. It also helps that I finally have my own computer. It's just a netbook but it works for me and I don't have to share a computer with 2 teen girls anymore, which means I don't get to use the computer when the girls are here. I love my netbook, it's cute and little and ultra portable. I'm still getting used to using a windows based machine but I think I got it down right.

You seem to have it down pretty well. I know the relief of not sharing. Got my teen daughter her own laptop a couple months ago. What a relief!

We just added another phone to our family plan so that the girls could each have their own phone. They fought over their phone all the time and now that they're older, they don't do everything together anymore so it's probably better that they each have their own. They want to upgrade to a laptop but that'll have to wait, their dad is still paying off Ashley's surgery bills from last June.
