Diane: Such beautiful gifts... I love the cleome flowers and "crackles" that lynne has sent.--and yes the "stars" match so very nicely with your magnet that Lynne sent earlier. I love Cleome---I have some seeds myself but I need to find a place to put them before I plant them--and from the sounds of thingsd I have a year to decide where that is... That cloth from Sheri, is the very best--take my word for it---- and I esp. love the card that it came with. You will be taking pictures of you r new Zinnia garden right???? and Cheryl has been a busy little girl--I too got a card from her today---Hopefully tomorrow I can get Valarie to post about it. Very nice gifts from great friends to a great friend. I am so glad they will help brighten your weekend.

Diane - I'm so very glad that you received all these things at this time. I'm glad they could help you get through this holiday weekend. When I made the crackled stars, I thought of you right away, being that you are also a sapphire baby! And while your pictures are great, they don't really show the sparkle in the stars, right? I had forgotten about that magnet - even though I have the same one on my fridge right near where I put my own stars - silly me! I'm glad you noticed! Looks like you are going to be planting a bunch of seeds, what with Sheri's and mine now. I'm still looking for the cupid's dart for you too. So nice of Cheryl to think of you too - what a nice card!

Those pictures are VERY cool Diane! I didn't mean to criticize - was just mentioning that they sparkle a lot.
But now that you have done that... I've been thinking of where I can put some outdoors so the sun catches the sparkle in the gardens. Might have to glue some on some pots to give them some pizzazz! I can't remember where I bought those stars years ago, and haven't found anymore this week yet. I'm pretty sure I got them in a $ store, but most of ours are gone now. Not giving up on finding them though.

Lynne, I'm taking all the credit for those dish cloths that YOU sent me the pattern for. I love them.
Those stars are great. You guys find the best stuff.
Cheryl, certainly has been busy being sweet this week.
I just love it all. Little acts of kindness.

Yes Shirley - down in my "UH OH" thread in Hobbies, I posted another picture of a "fried marble". Only thing is I didn't say how long to bake them for - 20 minutes. You can bake them longer and it won't make a difference, but shorter time periods are not supposed to produce as many crackles. Be very careful when you take the marbles out and plunge them into ice water - the glass marbles get VERY hot - I use an old aluminum pie pan to bake them in, and put on a long BBQ mitt to take them out of my toaster oven.
The marbles cool down almost instantly, but I leave them in the ice water for a few minutes in case any more crackles want to come out. I also find that they are more sparkly after they have dried and sat for a few hours, so don't be disappointed if they don't look too great right away. I have done a batch twice and it did seem to bring out just a few more crackles - not that much though really.
