Hey there,
I have had this tomato plant in the grounnd for about 2 months now. Just in the past few days, it had gone from looking great to looking like it's on it's last leg, or stem.. w/e

Anyway, I live on Orlando, FL and the soil has some manure/compost and some top soil mixed in with the soil that was already there.

I think this may be due to over watering because we did have a couple days of rain, but none of my other tomatoes look like this at all.

The PVC is for deep root watering.. That's also why I think it might be overwatering. When it rained, I didn't block the PVC.

I checked for bugs and I didnt see any. I don't know if it's a disease or what.

Please help. Can it be saved? Here's a pic.

Hey there...I have seen your tomatoes picture closely.
I think you didn't fertilize your tomato plant.
I also planted a tomato plant last year to my garden.
I also had face this type of problem with my tomato tree.
I fertilized them and then the plant gave me the better result.

Looks like a wilt to me. What variety is this?

Florida is known for having a nematode problem. Most of the growers I know from there do all of their veggies in containers with a soilless mix that they throw out at the end of each season. Kind of a drag, but that's how they get around it.

For 2 years I had fierce problems with tomato wilt. Someone suggested that the next year I should plant tomatoes where I had corn this year. And that I should use fish emulsion (Yuk) to fertilize. I did both of those. Lots of my friends still had problems with the wilts but my tomatoes seemed to be doing well!! However the leaf footed bug created havoc with them. This year I have a hand held vacuum and I will get the little buggers...

Wilt can come from so many things...lack of water, fungi, wilt virus, walnut toxicity, or stalk borers(caterpillar larvae) just to name a few. Sometimes it's best to start in new soil...

...just remember not to take that vacuum back in the house without emptying it

Oh god

Not tomato blight again.
It wiped out my entire 40 plants of tomato last year.

Hope not again.
