last spring i purchased this lovely plant brought it in to the basement for the winter didn't water much looked like it was dead , now started sprouting from the base of plant what do i do now ?

Bring it into the light and water normally. If it doesn't start leafing out on the upper parts in a couple of weeks or if the upper branches are completely dry and snap when bent, you may need to trim those off. Keep it in a warm bright place now through summer and you may be rewarded with awesome purple blooms again in late spring. Congratulations!

thank you for imfo Tina , i ended up cutting back ,new shoot with 3sets of leaves but now the bottom 2sets are curling and dont look good at all any sugestions ?its in a sunny window facing s/e.
