I planted these tulips last fall after getting a great deal on them for 80% off at Christmas Tree Shops.
The bulbs were very firm and healthy.

I always need to put milorganite fertilizer down around my spring bulbs because it's the only thing that will keep the deer away and prevent them from eating them down to the ground, because it stinks so much.

So... I am wondering if the milorganite caused these tulip leaves to be so large and limp, or if it might be the type of tulip. I didn't write down which ones these were. There aren't a lot of buds coming out of the plants with the large leaves either.

Did you set the Bulb directly on the fertilizer when you planted it or mix it into the soil first??

Neither actually - I sprinkled the milorganite around the leaves after the deer had already taken bites off the tips of them. So it sits on the ground around the leaves.
