I live in NC and typically have a BLACK thumb. Last year I felt the need to plant a soil-less veggie garden. I used 6 bales of straw and it worked great!
This year I have expanded! I planted fruit and have 13 bales and a compost/lasgana box and I am trying to also do companion planting... we will see.
