I had Red,Pink, & White Petunias one year, and Hummingbirds loved them! Hawkmoths (adult hornworm) liked the white ones too!

Tomato Hawkmoth (after) And yes, they actually are important pollinators for deep, bell shaped plants (like Petunias)

Sometimes hornworms are born black, but 99% of the time they are green. Pretty cool looking!

I think they are creepy looking and I do NOT like what they do to my plants!

Funny thing is the moths of them are important pollinators, they drink nectar from same plants hummingbirds do.

Yes I know, but the wasps that lay their eggs on them are pests around here. When that happens the caterpillar doesn't even have a chance to develop into moths.
