I have been having hummingbirds for a week or so, now, but yesterday, I saw 2 or them vying for the feeder.
This is the best pic I got through the window.

Then I took Thorny's advice and set up my chair and tripod outside about 10 feet away from the feeder. It took a few minutes, but the hummingbirds came back. I had never seen even two hummingbirds feeding at the same, and here I have 3!

Love the last picture!!!! Are these Ruby Throated? They look a bit bigger than the ones I get. I just saw my first one yesterday late afternoon...very exciting!

Iggy, yes they are Ruby-throated hummingbirds.

Stevie, not since those 2 consecutive nights, but my mom had another visit a few days ago. She lives about 5 miles away. We've both been bringing our feeders in at night, so there's been no more damage.

Great photos there gals..

I didnt see any here, but I have 2 feeders up and think they were visited, cause there are drops of sugar water stains on the porch floor below one.
More this morning..

You have at least two males there, and, NO, Birds are not afraid of you if you sit outside fairly close to the feeders, ESPECIALLY Hummers. Sometimes Hummers will deliberately fly up to within a few inches (centimeters for you, Stevie) of YOU!

Now try a tripod and your flash, even in the bright sun, Terry, for the best possible pictures!

Thorny,

I DID use my tripod, but they moved so fast, I wasn't getting any good shots taking one pic at a time, so I set my camera for continuous photos. (continuous for as long as the shutter is pressed) My flash doesn't work in that mode. I took nearly 150 pics, knocked that down to 71 before I even went inside to load them on the computer, then narrowed them down to 10 before posting here.
