This Black Vulture was one of SIX that were feeding on a dead Possum on the side of the road today. The other five flew before I could get a picture of them.

I almost didn't look. I don't like to look at roadkill. I'm glad that you got the shot away from the icky part.
That is a handsome bird though.

The only pictures of vultures I've ever see were really ugly...bald heads, red faces and necks, icky skin!!! But this one is very handsome!! I'm pleasantly surprised.

This is a Black Vulture. They look Egyptian. The Red-Headed ones are Turkey Vultures.

It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkey vultures.

Yeah, they keep pecking at you as you fly by. Here is a Turkey Vulture in a "Dogfight". My son took this picture about a year ago using his Nikon D80 camera.

That is a REAL picture! MINIMAL Photoshopping. This fellow with a remote controlled Glider was following the Turkey Vulture to take advantage of the thermal the Vulture was riding. It is an OLD trick that model airplaners use. my son was there aND SNAPPED THE PICTURE AND i PROCESSED IT. i CROPPED IT, SHARPENED IT A BIT AND SLIGHTLY ENHANCED THE BRIGHTNESS AND COLOR. No additions or subtractions to the picture. What you see is what ACTUALLY happened.
