I have an avocado plant that is one year old and 70 cm (28 inches) tall. I started this plant from an avocado pit just for the fun of it, now I am not sure what to do! Does anyone out there have an avocado tree for a house plant? Any advice is welcome.

Hi GaryL, and welcome to the forum! I don't have an avocado, but I have heard they grow big, and they like it warm. But if you want to keep it inside, there's probably no harm in just keeping it pruned to size. Someone else with a bit more experience may be able to help more.

I grew one too for about 1-2 years. The family thought I was nuts, so we turfed it. :(

Maybe you should grow another one; we wouldn't think you were nuts! I would love to grow one here. Guess it's going to have to be indoors until established.

The one I grew was inside, I dont think it would survive southern ontario winters ;)
Just like our banana trees they grew only until a certain point not over 4 feet :(
