Ok so last year I bought a beautiful sterling silver rose bush and managed to kill it by the end of summer or maybe a month I don't remember :( but I didn't do very good. I found some mini roses and wondered if I could try those but try them inside or if they would get to big. Does anyone know or has anyone tried. I love flowering plants and did good with my African violet (not sure how) so I thought indoor plants would be nice for the winter. Thanks for any help or advice.

I really never had a luck with them indoors.

Mini roses aren't suited to be grown in a regular house as a houseplant - in fact roses weren't meant to be enjoyed inside at all! Depending on where you live, you may be able to keep your mini rose outside and have it return. The tag should say hardy to ____ and if it's hardy to your zone, you can keep it outside all year:)Enjoy the blooms that it has now inside, and when it stops blooming, transfer it outside (being sure to harden it off first) Even if it isn't hardy, they will do better outside, and will most likely bloom again as they bloom on new wood. I have a mini orange that I planted last year and it's made it through fine despite the poor drainage and bitter winter.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee
