So we've had rain on and off for the last 7-8 days here I'd say and my new tree's are hating it! Is there anything I can do for them?

The tree's were just planted 5 days ago and all there leaves are wilting. I know this could be from transplant shock, but I think both of my tree's are supposed to be in well drained soil. They are a Nectarine and an Asian Pear tree.

Right now I have about an inch of standing water on half of my yard.

I posted this in the vegetable garden forum because I'm also worried about my garden. It's a raised garden, but I just put some fresh fertilizer down. Will this hurt anything? Are there any warning signs I should look for for my tree's especially? But also in my garden?

Someone help!

Thanks

trees going thru shock, have you treated for shock of transplanting? Miracle grow has good stuff to use to reduce shock and strengthen plants.
Raised beds will be fine, but some of fertilizer might leach out.
good luck

So the fertilizer leaching out is okay? I was just worried that it would break up too much and burn the roots or something like that...

I have not treated the tree's for shock. I didn't know they made anything like that. I'm going to google it now. Does anyone have any other suggestions for transplant shock? This is my first time ever doing a garden and very first time of planting trees.

Thanks

Just on another note... we got more rain today. Is there a website that you can look up local rainfall totals?

what kind of trees? I've never had trees go through shock unless it's too hot. Is it most of the leaves or just a few? The fertilizer won't hurt anything. It sounds like it's really diluted at this point.

They are a 20th Century Asian Pear and a Sunglo Nectarine. I'd have to say it looks like almost all of them are wilting. It could be from the constant beating the rain is putting on the leaves too though. The sun finally came out so if it stays out and doesn't rain tomorrow I'll take a look and judge then.

Yes!

Got to noaa.gov

Enter your zip in the search box

Scroll to the bottom and click on "Local climate" (under "addition forecasts & information"

Under the "observed weather" tab, you can get yesterday's data, month to date data, last month's data, etc. Other tabs will give you averages & records and so on.

For example (although the columns aren't lining up) we've gotten 1.82" of rain so far this month (at the recording station):
