It grows to be about the size of a forsythia. It is in bloom right now in Michigan. The flowers are in ball-shaped bunches, almost white in color with touches of light lavender to pinkish and smell heavenly! It has a very strong “flowery” aroma. The blossoms are about 3/4 of an inch across. The bush I got these flowers from is down the street at an unoccupied home and I so want to get a bush for my garden. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

The warmest zone in Michigan that I found was 6b. IO can't think of much that blooms this early and looks like your picture.

Mock Orange (Philadelphus lewisii)?

Taking a stab at it as well. My best guess is viburnum. If you can post a picture of just the leaves w/some new growth that'd be helpful, too. I have viburnum burkwoodii. In my zone it's just finished blooming. Stays evergreen and w/o pruning, it can grow as big as forsythias. Tiny tubular flowers seem identical to yours in addition to the slightly serrated leaves. It does smell wonderful also. To me (and everybody's senses are different) it smells kind of like bubble gum.

Right now it's home to a nest of cardinals.

I think it looks like viburnum also with the rough looking leaves and the white wonderful smelling blossoms.
