Hi fellow Garden Guys and Gals.....

I am a retired Floral Designer, now totally immersed in creating a backyard oasis. I do the planning, and my husband does the work. Works for me......

I hope to be asking a lot of questions, as the list of plants that we are putting in this year, are all relatively new to me, and since our growing season here in Ontario is much shorter than you fellow gardeners from the sunny south, I am anxiously awaiting the 24th of May to begin. My husband is from Switzerland, so we have lots of window boxes, problem is, he thinks only geraniums belong in them, so I need to come up with something spectacular to replace them with. I have been on so many websites looking, my head is swimming, so I am looking forward to participating here.

sounds Like a Plan to me lol thumbup lol

The possiblities are endless with window boxes,,,, being a floral designer you can use the principles you used in designing bouquets,, baskets, etc,, Several different plants can go into a window box will look awesome. Even succulents with the same watering , sun/shade requirements can be mixed in, thumbup
Cascading flowers, flowing out of the box would look really cool,, clap
just use your imagination as you did in designing floral arrangements.
IF you are going to the nursery to purchase started plants~ take one of the boxes with you and arrange different flowers/succulents in it. I've done that my self on occasion, this way you will already know if there is enough room for growth, if it's the look you want, and your Hubby will know you didn't work all those years as a floral designer to leave your talents at the flower Shop teach flwr lol
