I've had two Carolina Chickadees coming to my feeders all year. For the past month I hadn't seen them but had been hearing lots of Chickadee commotion in my back yard this past week.

Today, they were back at my feeders......ALL SIX OF THEM!!! Four of them were begging to be fed......JUVENILES!!! These young are ALMOST identical to their parents in size and coloring, unlike many baby birds. The behavior tells you which are the Juvys.

The ones with the yellow around the corners of their mouths and in their throats are the juveniles.
