Where did you find so many? I've never seen any growing around here, only in the supermarkets.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee
That is only 1/3 of what we have so far Kenny! Yes they are morels! Love them!! They are such a special treat since we can only get them in a short period of time. We had them for dinner last night and have 2 more meals of them. I'm sure James will be out hunting for more. I wish I could share some with you Carol because I definitely would!! I fry mine until the water cooks off and then I add butter, garlic salt and pepper and fry until done. I like mine to be almost crispy but not quite. They are so good!
They look like SLUGS!!! and I would not eat slugs for anything!!
That one on the left hand side of the picture looks like it has eyes!!!
I would not eat them in the air I would not let them curl my hair I would not eat them in a car I would not eat them near or far I would not eat them anywhere I would not, no, no, no, so there!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
I would not eat them in the air I would not let them curl my hair I would not eat them in a car I would not eat them near or far I would not eat them anywhere I would not, no, no, no, so there!
My sentiments exactly!

I don't think that I have ever seen them. I know that I have never eaten them but hey they look and sound very appetizing to me. Sure wish that I could at least taste them once.
My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.
They can be hard to find and Carol is right...you have to know what you are looking for. Our local food co-op will buy them for $20 per lb. from anybody willing to sell them to them. We eat ours instead!
Carol....definitely try them with a bit of garlic salt on them. Yummy! I had them cooked a different way at a friend of ours the other night and I still say you can't beat them cooked in butter with garlic salt and pepper.
I guess I need to get out myself & look---because rod does not do tjhat----or I can wait for my dad to get the sheep head ones--there is so much of t hem that he shares---
and yes I sure will try them that way--I still like them breaded/fried--but gee if I like this I will have 3 ways to eat them---YUM !!!
