it looks so familiar but I can't place it, it looks like something that will bloom??

ok, here's the whole plant

it looks a little like a rosebush but I don't see thorns.

yea, I thought it looked rose like too. but you are right - no thorns.

there are thornless roses out there. they have thorns, but the thorns are little nubs that don't hurt. or prick.

it's an interesting and pretty plant what ever it is.

and you should see the soil it's growing in. not even what i'd call soil. it's growing in dirt! but, still looks pretty.

how exciting! they call it a house plant but I read up where a lot of people in my zone and surrounding zones keep it outside in the shade or even plant it in the ground and it grows into a TREE! it just needs to stay moist and not dry out. and it DOES bloom!

in your zone, cricket, it can definitely be grown outside and will probably do much better than when it's kept inside as a houseplant!

they do like kind of shady conditions and like to be kept on the moist side, so keep that in mind when you decide on a spot for it.
