The rose moss is blooming in the rock tower and it really brightens it up,, Some of the sedum is blooming too, and there are some newcomers to the Willy Village!!!
Sedum blooming
I caught this wee Willy running over the bridge! I told him to be careful there's a loose board on that side!!! He was in such a hurry He didn't hear me ! It appears he found the loose board Not to worry I helped him get his foot back thru, brushed him off, No scrapes or bruises,, and sent him on his way
And this Newcomer is lovin' his work!! He finds the little rocks and hands them to the taller Willys so he doesn't have to walk down the tower to set it at the bottom,, What a cheery little worker he is!!! Of course the one behind him is taking a deserved break!!
This wee Willy gets rid of all the little broken sticks!! and he's doing a terrific job!
What's your DIY project your working on for your garden area??

I just LOVE it all, Diane! You tell such a fun story about each Willy there, I'm sure they are all thrilled to do this "work" for you! Keep on "keepin' on" with that creative mind of yours!
Oh, Diane, those are wonderful pictures!!! You are doing a terrific job with your Village!! I was hoping you would post your own on-going story, though! Love moss blooming. I had a lot of that in CA and so did everyone. It looks so good there among the rocks. I have that willy that's sleeping under the Sedum! I just love this!! I hope you post lots more pics and tell lots more stories!!!!

Ohhh Shirley I'm glad you brought that up , This afternoon after I finished sifting my compost, AND after I helped wee Willy get his foot outta the loose board, I checked on the Houses and Discovered three Wee Willy's Had the day off! One reading a book, another speaking to his feathered friend and another exercising I couldn't believe he was doing side leg lifts!! No wonder he can climb those rocks soo quickly with out tireing!!!

Oh Diane, you're so much fun!!! And look at those beautiful blooming flowers!!
The Willies (and you) have done a great job and deserve a day off. I wonder what he is reading? And I didn't know willies coule talk in bird language?!! I'm going to have to sit one of mine on my bedroom windowsill and see if he will talk to the bird who sits on my outside windowsill every morning! Maybe he will tell him to let me sleep a little longer.
No Weezie I started building this back in October with the "Last Fall gathering before winter comes" in the old forum and I have been building the tower and the village over a period of time I think since october(?)06 BUt just added these Willy's recently.

Ahhhh THanks Triss!!! Breyton ( the youngest ) was over here for a few minutes today I told him to go see if he saw anything different in the Village!! He spotted the exercising Willy!!! LOLOL THen the book reader! I also place many of my larger Willys out! He spotted this one and loves it!

Diane, I think that last Willy in the chair smoking his pipe looks like a storyteller! He could have some Willies on the ground, around in front of him, facing him. He's telling them stories about their ancestors; and funny happening in the garden etc. He's saying, "Well me lads, way back when I was a wee Willy.....". I know you'd make it fun!!
shirls! i bet if diane took pics of her willys and told storys it would be a big hit! i know i would look forward to em! every time you see her pics and willies its like lookin at a wonder willy land!
Omg I had to wipe off my screen from spitting out my water,, I must be more careful reading these post Knowing I could bust out laughing at any given post!!! That was an absolute good one!!!

The new Welcome sign Willy has been assigned to light the way for all new comers and visiters to the rock pile Willy village!!! Being the Carpenter that he is He is holding his own piece of work. We felt it only appropriate for him to be the Offical Welcome Willy!! ( a very important postion not to be taken lightly by the way!!!)
Ahhh Hemmmmmmm Once again I catch runnin' willy running over that bridge. Just look at his face ~ He knows he was caught running again!! Every time I go outside I see him running around somewhere. Don't be surprised if you see him in future pictures ~ running still!!!
Another important job is fetching pails of water!! There are a couple of snoozing Willys that need a wake up call when break is over and this willy throws that pail of water on them just perfectly as a matter of fact He likes it a bit tooo much!

This morning I got up early to get some work done outside It's suppose to be in the 80's today soo I wanted to beat the heat.. The Willys were out and about enjoying their early morning playing and talking with the animals,, I found this Willy feeding some cardinals and starting their day off will a good breakfast Cooooool!
And the Frogs have come to play!! I can't imagine where these frogs are coming from ~ I don't have a pond maybe be they live under the bridge at the Rock tower???
Now this is what I'd like to be doing!! Fishing!! Looks like these brothers have caught Breakfast!! ALthought this fish looks a little lite weight Maybe they'll catch more and have a fish fry for all!!!Yummy Well I'll be darn!! There's running willy again I didn't see him when I took this picture and evidently he didn't see me either!!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
Oh My gosh I got mail today while I was taking a nap and I didn't see the box from Jiffy untill this evening!! She sent me two Willy's Thank you Jiffy! ~ I got a willy that was still sleeping from the looonng trip so I gently placed him in a nice soft area shhhhhhhhhhhhh quiet!
And his brother I put near by soo when the sleeping willy wakes he won't be frighten of his new location
It's getting dark and things are quieting down at the Willy Village,, a few are still moving about but for the most part all is getting ready for a nights rest
Big Willy always stays up with his light on for all newcomers to see their way to the rock tower Village,, A trusted one he is!! ( Hmm that darn running willy is going to get hurt running over those rocks like that!!
Good Night Willy's See Ya in the morning!!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
If you put all these picture with all your story telling in a book I KNOW it could be publish!!! If I had children I would buy it in a minute!!! I'm serious about this!!!
I've seen childrens books in stores FAR LESS interesting and fun than this!!! YOU should go for it!!! Seriously!!
Welll my Rocktower Willy village suffered a some damage from the spring storm with hurricane forced winds and rains as I learned later In this neighborhood was a catagory 1 tornado... The area where " The Trusted Big Willy 'Keeper of the light'" stood collaped.
Strange how Big Willy took a dive and wee bird talking willy sat firm on his stoop!
Big Willys light led me to find him as you can see his light is still shining!! ,, Seeee I told you he was the trusted one ~ no matter what His light was still shining!! and he looks to be okay
Continued..
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
Even during his times of hardship "Trusted Big Willy 'Keeper of the light'", didn't abandond his inner spirit to keep things lit up for all the others! Either that or he's just plain scared of the dark!
After the storm I did find some banged up , bruised up Willys But with a little TLC and some bandaids I think they will heal okay..
I think My heart broke most over Running Willy ,, Yesss he's the most stubborn one and he gets on my nerves more than the rest( because He doesn't listen to be careful)
I found him with his right hand missing . His face was flushed with the pain he was in, so I gently talked to him and called Wreenies Medics she so generously offered for assistance. The Medics eased his pain and wraped his arm in bandages, and he's been resting all day.. When I got home He wanted sooo badly to join the rest of the willys at the Village so I took him outside. The tallest and oldest of all the Willys has assigned Himself to "running" willys care, Grand PooBah Willy is of a gentle nature and "running" Willy will be in the best of care with him.
Introducing Grand Poobah Willy...
The other Willys promised to help look for running willys hand. When and IF they find it I'll have to call the medics again to give Running willy a hand!
