thanks for asking!! i've been so busy at work and at home i haven't had time to post anything...
he came home monday night and is hanging in there, i guess. he doesn't want to eat the canned food and he's not really drinking enough water, so that's an issue. from both the getting liquids into him as well as hiding the meds in it.
although, he IS letting me give him the meds by mouth!! really isn't putting up a fight (which is a total surprise) and i've managed to get them in and see that he swallows them - only one, so far, did he manage to spit out and we got it in/swallowed on the second try. i was really worried about having to give meds - he doesn't normally get treats and when he does, i put it in his bowl. so, he just doesn't take anything out-of-hand, so i can't wrap the pills in a piece of meat
last night was the first time (since he's been home) that he climbed up on the window sill in the kitchen and was waiting for me to come home from work (he's usually there waiting for me every day). it's up higher than normal (that area used to be a pantry, so it was just for a little light in the room) so, that shows he's feeling better if he ventured up there.
i'm just keeping a close eye on him...still not out of the woods yet - especially if he isn't taking in enough fluids. i'm going to try some other flavors of canned food (maybe he just didn't like that one or doesn't want to try it again since i'd put meds in it the first couple times i gave it to him) and hopefully i'll find something he likes!

Thanks for posting, Joclyn!
I'm sorry he doesn't like the wet food you've given him, but hopefully he has found one that he likes by now. And I'm glad that you are able to give him the pills one way or another. And that he was in the windowsill - it makes us feel so good to see our furbabies in their places, doesn't it?
I hope he continues to improve greatly day by day. Please keep us updated?

i bought something else and he did eat it...helped that he'd finished the dry stuff while i was at work and he was hungry :)
he's getting more back-to-normal each day, so, he's feeling better. he IS exhibiting some things that aren't normal...like sleeping with me - curled up right next to me and that's not too bad. he's also started spraying and that IS bad.
he's never done this in all the years, so, i don't know if it's connected to this and he's spraying because he's straining or if he's just stressed and is spraying as a result. either way, i'd rather have the three ferrets, that still have their poofers, poofing because that doesn't smell as bad as the cat's stuff!! and, when the ferrets poof, it dissipates on it's own, i don't have to do anything about it...i'll have to pull out the black light to find the spots rusty made so i can clean them up...like i have time for extra projects...
