Hello,
I'm very new at growing plants and would greatly appreciate some advice!
I started 12 morning glories inside and they are now outside in a container (I don't have a yard, but I do have a balcony).
They are doing fine, I think, but I wanted to know: am I slowing their growth by not having them grow on a trellis?
Also: I started three sunflowers inside, three outside. The latter grew to about 2 feet in about two -two and a half months- and then were eaten by deer. The former have not quite grown this tall, but are just as handsome as the other three I started outside. Is it possible that keeping sunflowers in a container restricts their growth?
I would really appreciate any thoughts.
Thank you all,
Maria

Welcome!

It is possible to grow sunflowers in containers! This is from a couple of years ago when I had to grow all of my garden in containers. And these pots were severely over-planted & I think because of that, they didn't get as tall as they might have otherwise. But you see, it's possible!

Hi Marcia,
Thanks for your reply.
How did you keep insects off of them?
Thanks again,
Maria
