Just dropping in to say good morning---here in a few I need to go and get my shower & such. I am on my second cup.
--
Does anyone have a can of Durkee french fried onions I can borrow--permanently??? I seem to have neglected to buy them yesterday when I bought hte other ingredients for my green bean casserole. My Mom said that is to be my contribution to today's family meal.

I don't buy canned French fried onions at all, Carol. Not one of my personal favorites.
I am up. I need to go out and repair a broken water pipe today. Also not one of my favorites.

Hi everyone. Cool and cloudy here today. Looks like it's going to be cool all week. Way to start out summer. We're going out to a late breakfast to celebrate Father's Day. We had to, kids didn't get dropped off by their mom until 11. That's okay though, we'll still have a good breakfast and a good family day together. Yesterday Aros and I went on a photography trip, which made both of us happy. Don't know what else we're doing today. Hope everyone else has a great day!

Hi everybody! wavy

I'm sorry I wasn't around earlier to give you some French's Fried Onions in a can, Carol Jean. I like to keep those on hand when I can because we really like Green Bean Casserole AND I like to snack on them, also! lol

I was more of a flower Child than a Hippie, but I remember the real Hippies with fondness. What an era that was!

I'm always amazed when I realize how little the younger generations are interested in Protest and I'm so proud of my son when he Protests something! I think each Age needs to figure out how to correct the mistakes of the previous one...

I've been resting quite a bit today, trying to pull myself together before another busy week starts.

Rest is very good, Merme.
I took a little nap today. Got some repair work outside started. I need to get some help to finish, I think. It is the pits getting old.

Well said! thumbup
yesterday I caught a bit of a documentary on the depression and Rosevelts speach outlining his New Deal...(that's what it was called, right?) such a motivational speech and he actually put those GREAT ideas into action and turned the economy around!
We sure could use something like that now!

I have been doing nothing but resting today. and tomorrow I'm off work. clap We sure could use the money, but another day off is quite appealing too!

Good Morning all,
Slept in today - home again now - we didn't get in till almost 1 am so we were all tired- dropped the two boys we had in car and came home- moved pickup out of garage and put loaded Tahoe in and just went to bed..Joe got up and washed the Tahoe already.. lots of bugs on a trip ... he couldn't stand it...
I had my coffee and am just unwinding some- have stuff to put away and eventually have to grocery shop and go and get Mom and her stuff too...my yard survived nicely cause it rained practically every day we were gone - today it's supposed to hit the 90's and all week so cooler will be going in window today too...
Our vacation was wonderful... enjoyed it all a lot- but it's nice to be home too.... more later got to get started here ... well maybe after some of crickets toast and jelly...

Toast and jelly sounds good to me, too.
So glad you are home safe and sound, Nana. Don't work yourself into a frazzle recovering from it all. You will undo all of the good that vacation did.
We are also heading into real summer weather that will probably stick above 90 for the next 3+ months. Half of that time will be triple digits. So while It is still under 90 today and maybe tomorrow I have a lot of work to do outdoors.

Good afternoon! Summer is definitely upon us here. It will be 95 today and in the upper 80s and into the 90s all week. I won't complain though. We turned on our A/C last night because it was so humid in the house. We are in the process of building a deck on our house. Lots of work but it will be so nice once it is done.

Evening Ladies. You have been busy since last week. I have been gardening like crazy. Still have several more things to plant, I keep finding more to do. LOL Then I have to get mulch. never my fave job. It got hot here on Sat, and has been in the high 80s ever since. Pretty humid too. I dont know how you folks in the south and west stand it. If I did not have air I would simply melt. I guess I really am a northern gal at heart. I like 60s and 70s and sunny with a light breeze. 50s at night so you can sleep with a blanket. Gee dont want much do I .. Have a nice night girls! wavy

Hello again,
We got a lot done- clothes put away- laundry in hampers, suitcases packed down to basement again- Joe got Tahoe washed- we grocery shopped, now he is working on getting the cooler in the window - it's over 90* today and supposed to stay that way for awhile.... got all my fans going but it is hot- hotter here than in AZ... weird or what?
As soon as he is done doing that we are going after my Mom and get her resettled here... so glad I cleaned her room and bathroom before we left- tomorrow I will do the upstairs before the heat starts- Carrie closes tomorrow so won't have the boys either...
We are thinking of getting an above the ground pool for us and the kids ,we sure enjoyed the one in AZ- even with shorter time to use it it just may be worth it to have one here... got at least 2 months more of summer this yr we would get use out of it... and with a solar blanket to help keep it warm it would be really nice... sure hope I have some money left- haven't checked yet just how much vacation actually cost.... LOL!

no need to look at that just yet. take your time with the remembering memories before you terrify yourself. lol

I just came in from outside. it sure seemed nice at first. not extreamly hot, but the humidity must be outrageous! I was sitting in a lawn chair doing absolutly nothing and sweat was pouring down me after 10 minutes.

I had a another nice and lazy day. I did get a few things accomplished but at a slow easy pace. back to work tomorrow though.

I watched a lot of the Universal Sports channel today. do any of you get that one? I love that station! it's like watching the olympics 24/7. we finally found our remote so was able to rescan for digital, and now get that station. we watched diving, swimming, water polo, and beach volleyball today! I'm not much of a tv watcher or a sports fan, but watching different countries compete at sports you don't normally get to see on tv is awesome.

I am just in from being outside working. I ran out of umph before I ran out of daylight. Tonight I trimmed 14 of 28 palm trees. I was using the gas pole saw and that thing is an arm killer or I would have completed the job. This morning I trimmed about 40 foot of hedge using gas hedge shears. If I can move my arms tomorrow I will finish those palms. If I need to rest my arms from those tools I will mow instead. I do feel I accomplished stuff though.

Tina I hope your arms recover for you nicely by tomorrow.

There is a big storm at sea hanging over the coast of Maine... it will continue throwing rain to us through Thursday before it finally moves off. I love it when storms stall.

I was just wishing I had stuck the Hard Lemonades in the cooler we brought home... oh well, vacation is over I guess.. back to the everyday.... Mom is home- her sides hurt hopefully not from having to go up and down stairs at my sis's... my sis messed up her meds- didn't change her patch daily-- once a week- said very clearly on the instruction sheet I typed - daily .... she didn't help her shower either so we will be doing that first thing tomorrow... I rewashed her clothes too since they all smelled of cigarettes... sis said she washed them but don't believe it... they smelled... oh well..one extra load of laundry- have a bunch to do tomorrow anyway.
I haven't looked at my checkbook yet - that will be tomorrow too... we spent the afternoon watering the backyard... and watching the ladybugs fly up out of the grass to the tree and back... we have a million of them this yr- must have been cause I bought a pkg of them last yr to put on my roses to get rid of the aphids...they multiplied ...
well I am hitting my bed early tonight- got some sleep to make up still... so nite all- see you in the morning... coffee is ready to go - whoever gets up frirst just hit the button....

Good morning. I am on my second cup. Going to take off in a few minutes and get some work done. I feel like I am racing the heat. I want to get as much done before We get semi-permanently slam dunked by high temps.
