Hi,

I'm really new to gardening and I just planted three sunflower seeds in Winter in Australia in a water bottle container, yes not the right season! But one happened to emerge and is growing well (pictured below).

It's growing indoors in the sunniest spot in the house, any suggestions on whether I should change container, or move it outside, or anything like that?

I'm not sure how cold it gets in Australia in the winter, but if it is like our winters here in the US, the sunflower will not make it outside. Inside, you need a BIG pot as the plant will grow to be 5 or 6 feet tall and the stem will be about 1 inch thick. They can be quite beautiful and look great in bouquets.

Hope that works for you

Thank you flowergirlcfc, I will not leave this one out in the cold in this case, as the winters are chilly!

I will move it to a bigger pot once it starts to get bigger

Thanks for your help, not sure how this one will do but I do look forward to the summer when I can really grow these guys :)
