Since so many of us are growing different varieties of gaillardias, I thought I'd start a thread for them here.

I was pleased to see that my 2 Arizona Sun plants came back from last year, even though none of my Oranges and Lemons, nor Goblins did. Although there is a plant growing near where one of the Oranges and Lemons was that might actually turn out to be one - but it would be a seedling and not the original plant because it's not the exact spot that I had planted it last year. I did end up buying 9 new Oranges and Lemons early this spring. Hopefully at least a few will return next year.

Here is the first bloom on my Arizona Sun that has returned.

I have had a dismal time getting Oranges and Lemons to overwinter and I'm in zone 7. I planted almost a dozen last year and only one came back, and it was sickly looking, but it did evtually bloom. My other gaillardias reseed everywhere so I always have new plants, but O&L doesn't seem to reseed as well...I had one baby pop up this year. I hope you have better luck with yours!
