I have a some Bearded Irises that I've had for about 4 years. This year they bloomed but looked almost waterlogged. Some of the leaves were yellow and spotty. My next door neighbor said they had a disease and I should pull them up and take out as much of the soil as possible or it will infect all of them.
What does anybody know about this?

Yellow leaves that eventually turn brown and die is a sign of the iris borer. You'll need to dig up each tuber and see if it is infected....keep and replant the ones that aren't.

Nah, alan is suggesting you select out the healthy ones...irises are darn tough. I've seen some with so much borer damage that they look like a sieve, right next to perfectly happy ones. Like alan said, I would not worry about eradicating them all.
