OK...Here is the rest of the story:
These are roots from one of my green bean plants. This white stuff looks like a fungus, it is powdery and I don't think I have ever seen anything like this before. I am afraid to even put this in my compost bin. What do you all think?

I responded to your other post....are you losing multiple plants? Give me a holler back and we'll figure it out. It can't hurt to compost it, but then again, play it safe and put it in the trash....it is not a disease that would normally affect beans or any other plant, though...I think (I'm guessing) the plant died and then the fungus found a tasty host.

I just thought of something else. My 4 rows of cornj were planted right next to those green beans and I did not get any corn either, stalks all died but no ears! What do you think of that? There was no fungus on the corn roots either, I did pull a few.

Clicking on them takes you to the photo hosting site. Bigger there.

Hi Marica, and Thanx! However....I being the dummy that I tend to be, need detailed instructions. I did click on the pic and it did go to my photobucket, but I have no idea what to do next. Can you help with that?

Corn can be difficult, sometimes. It needs an enormous amount of nitrogen, well, plenty....whatever happened to the green beans likely had nothing to do with the corn, unless it was a water issue.
