Last Sunday night was the fireworks, parachuters, and concert event for our town. They hold it in the fields at the community college just down the road from us. The past couple of years they have had an "oldtime name" band perform before the fireworks. One year it was The Turtles, another The Shirelles, and this year it was Herman's Hermits.

My friend, Lori, her mother, Lori's daughter and her friend and I walked over so we could stand right in front of the stage. Lori got some great pictures with her expensive camera, and I got some decent ones of the parachuters with mine.

Here are the parachuters as they jumped from the airplane one at a time.

I took these next pictures - the parachuters were packing up their parachutes right in front of us.

One of the parachuter has his helmet on the ground - we were interested to see a video camera was mounted on the top of it. I'd love to see their perspective of the dives!

And now for Herman's Hermits. They were great and Peter Noone was quite funny!

He took someone's album cover and walked with it in front of his head as if to say he was still that young - too funny!

It's funny - that one where it looks like he's kissing the ground? He's actually leaning on the parachute to deflate it more so it fits in the sack!

Great pictures, Lynne.

I understood what the parachutist was deflating but it still is an amusing photo.

I too would like to see any video the one shot of the jump from his headset.

Maxi & I both like Herman Hermits.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Peter looks the same only older. Unfortunately that happens to all of us - except for Cher of course.

Your town sounds so fun. I'd love seeing all those old groups.
