I planted crimson giant radishes may 18th 2009 its now july 13th 2009, The Package says will be ready in 29 days...Well its been way over 29 days and theres no radishes. The plants are getting big but when I pull a plant up theres just roots. Shouldn't I haven't radishes by now. Why are they doing this? Im thinking of pulling them all out and re-starting with a different brand of seeds. This is my first time growing radishes. One of the radish plant is starting to flower to? Any help would be appreciated!

radishes need to be thinned to one or two inches apart, are they too crowded?

There was an excellent thread last year about this same problem. Don't have time to search now, but does anyone else remember it?

I had a terrible radish year.

Too much nitrogen, too crowded, soil too dense, too little phosphate, these ate the common problems, although the phosphorous is normally adequate.
