I went to the fabric store yesterday with the intention of buying some material to make the skirts that I've had patterns for since last year. I also needed to pick up some fimo clay for Amanda since I accidentally ruined the fathers day gift she had made. I ended up buying fimo clay for myself to see how well I still remembered how to make things out of it. The result? I have finished birthday presents for both girls. More next post....

And yes, I did sew also. Just one skirt, hopefully I'll get to the other one today.

I was up early yesterday, and I was in pain by the time I finished. Once I get started on something though, I can't stop until it's done.

The other skirt I'm going to make is also for me. I prefer wearing skirts rather than shorts in hot weather. And they make me feel less tomboyish. Thanks for the compliments.

A terrific job, Cheryl. On all of it. I enjoy looking at what you make.

Thanks, Tina. It's been over 10 years since I've played with fimo clay and I wasn't real happy with the way the flower beads turned out but my b/f said they looked really good and I think the girls will appreciate my effort.

I am very impressed, Cheryl! Those beads are very nice, and I like how you made the sets. I think it must take a lot of patience to make beads. You have a good eye for putting them together.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to make beads. Making the designs in them and having that come out right is the hard part.
Thanks Lynne, jewelry class in high school taught me a lot and I remember how to do almost everything I had learned so I must really have an interest. I'm hoping maybe the girls will want to learn how to make fimo beads. I would have so much fun teaching them.

Cheryl I looked on line to see how to make fimo beads I found a site that showed a slide show,, that particular person also used a "stamp press" with scrolls and swirls, cut off the raised part that exposed the colors under it but kept the scrolls and swirls cool idea! I bet the girls would love learning how from you ,,, endless ideas for designing their own!

I've NEVER known anyone to make beads. How cool is that. You could sell those.
