Is there a way you can resize pictures that you send as attachments on outlook express? I'm used to when I used a mac, you just drag and drop and then choose the size. I'm not used to this whole attachment thing and don't understand why it doesn't just go into the body of the email. Anyway, thanks for your help.

I'm not sure if there is a way to resize with any email program. Outlook, I'm not experienced with, but I know for hotmail and gmail, the pictures show up in the email below the text. gmail shows a thumbnail with the option of viewing the picture online or downloading it. the size of the pic when you attach it will be the size of the pic when the receiver receives it.

I have gmail and used that instead of outlook express to send the pic to see if I could make it work better. It showed that I had an attachment but didn't show the pic in the text body area at all. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to keep trying to save for a macbook. Thanks Kenny!

Cheryl when you sent a picture thru email GMAIL after you sent it did you check your "sent" folder to make sure your recipient could view it? do you have your "View Images" box Checked on your options in GMail?

Thanks Diane! Never thought to check the sent folder. Looks okay to me there so my parents and grandparents shouldn't have a problem. I usually can only send them 2 pictures or my emails get rejected for being too big. When I used apple mail you could choose whether to send the photo small, medium, or large. I guess they are the only ones that do that. My mom should be back from her ocean house tonight so I'll know how it came through. Thanks for your tips and suggestions!

I don't know of a non-web-based email client that is capable of resizing images for the user; there are many programs to resize though

Well, that's quite possible, outlook breaks standards by using word to send messages (in newer versions); I'm ultimately sure it may change the displayed dimensions, I highly doubt it actually trims the image down to dismiss any enhanced quality a higher resolution would allow.
